TWO housebreaking suspects, wanted for separate incidents, were apprehended in Pinetown on Tuesday morning.
The first arrest unfolded as a reaction officer was patrolling Payne Street and spotted a pedestrian behaving suspiciously outside a church premises, said Blue Security’s community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
“After backup arrived, a search revealed the suspect had tools and a lawnmower in his possession,” said Mathios.
In a separate incident, units responded to a callout after an eyewitness spotted two alleged thieves at a business premises on Josiah Gumede Road.

According to Mathios, the suspects were seen throwing items over a wall on Church Lane.
The suspects then made their way to another retail store but fled when they noticed an on-duty security guard.
“Blue Security closed down the area and intensified the search for the men. On being spotted, hiding in nearby flower beds in Church Lane, the men attempted to flee. One disappeared into a nearby property while the other was apprehended,” he said.
Both suspects and the recovered stolen goods were handed over to Pinetown SAPS.
