UNEMPLOYED people have become the latest target of fake news peddlers. This is according to the Department of Employment and Labour.

“There are people out there who take advantage of the fact there are many people who are unemployed and create false hopes using the name of the department in particular and government in general. We appeal to all those who have seen this notice to disregard it as it is fake,” said the department’s Director General (DG), Thobile Lamati, in a noticed issued by the department.
The department said it is urging all those who have received or seen the email doing the rounds claiming that the department is calling for CVs from Bachelor of Commerce graduates to disregard it because it isn’t authentic.
“The so-called Bongani Sithole to whom CVs are supposed to be forwarded to does not exist,” said Lamati.
Meanwhile, there are resources available to job seekers through the department as outlined on the department’s Twitter account recently.
This booklet will provide you advice on how to improve your chances of obtaining a job. It consists
of the following parts:
• Where can I find a job?
• A Guide to a best-selling CV
• The interview.
