Telkom poles collapse on Pinetown home, resident calls for help
The Pinetown resident has been in contact with Telkom since New Year's Day and is yet to see the problem resolved despite many attempts to get it resolved.
DESPITE numerous attempts to have two collapsed telephone poles repaired, a concerned Pinetown resident fears the damaged structures will cause harm to him.

The poles, which were damaged by the heavy rains on New Year’s Eve, are now unstable as one of the poles have already fallen onto the side of the house.
Terry Moss said he has been in contact with Telkom since 1 January regarding the poles, but no one has attended to his complaints.
“I am just sitting with the same reference number which they always give me whenever I follow up on my complaint,” said Moss.
He said after many complaints, his fear became a reality when one of the poles fell onto his house.
“My barge board has been damaged and more of the skim has been knocked off as this wall was being prepped for final skimming, but I better put a hold on that now.”

He said it appears the cable may have dragged his satellite dish off the wall as his TV signal is now weak.
What’s more concerning is that the other pole at the back of his garden is also about to fall.
“I have put a support structure against it, but I am scared about letting my dogs out as it could fall and kill them,” said a frustrated Moss.
He added that he was at his wit’s end. “Who will fix the damage? This could have been avoided should this have been sorted, its almost a month now with no feedback,” said Moss.
A trip to a Telkom shop also proved futile as Moss said he reported the issue and was given the same reference number.
Highway Mail’s attempts to obtain a comment from Telkom proved futile at the time of going to print.
