WITH many people feeling the financial strain due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kloof and Highway SPCA has seen an increase in the number of animals coming through its doors.

The donation of R7500 from BMW Motorrad Club KZN came at the right time as inspectorate and kennel manager, Sue Noakes said the SPCA relies on public donations to function.
The NPO, which has 130 members, said each year they choose a charity to donate to.
“This year, we chose the SPCA as we have never donated to an animal organisation,” said club’s chairman, Graham Mortlock.
Mortlock said they take a portion out of the membership fees to donate to a worthy cause.
“We do it out of the goodness of our heart and giving is always the right thing to do,” he said.
Noakes said they were extremely grateful for the support.
“The donations people bring in helps to fight against animal cruelty. We have definitely seen an increase in the animals coming in since the beginning of lockdown and as a charity organisation we are always in need of financial support,” she said.
