Help Hillcrest NPO extend its reach

The Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association is in need of a volunteer secretary.

IN the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, both in the country and around the world, the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association mooted all of its meetings for 2020.

As such, the current team did not meet its two newest board members. This all changed in early January.

Brad and Yvonne Speirs, the new committee members, joined the local non-profit organisation in July last year.

Eager to meet one another, the team set up a meeting on Saturday, 16 January, outdoors.

“Regrettably Brad and Yvonne have resigned from the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association due to business commitments and we hope that some community minded person would step up and join KHBA – the duties are not onerous and it is a lot of fun and very fulfilling,” said the organisation’s Marge Mitchell.

Growing support
The Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association has been active in the Hillcrest area for 15 years, and it is in need of a volunteer to take up the role of secretary.

“The volunteer would be required to take minutes at monthly meetings, send out agendas and minutes, but not during the pandemic of course,” said Mitchell.
