LOCAL snake expert, Nick Evans teamed up with Duncan Slabbert to retrieve a large Black Mamba from a tyre pit in Nazareth recently.
Once caught, the deadly reptile had a surprise to share with the duo.
Evans received a call from Slabbert, a fellow snake rescuer, to request assistance with catching a Black Mamba amid a pile of truck tyres.
Slabbert spotted the mamba from a window above the tyre pit and the duo began moving the hefty piles of rubber to retrieve the snake.
“I was busy pulling up tyres when Duncan spotted the mamba further along the pit. I rushed over, saw the mamba, reached in and grabbed it. It was a beast of a mamba and a chunky one!” exclaimed Evans.

With the Black Mamba firmly in his grip, Slabbert handed Evans a second pair of tongs to pull up the snake and maneuver it into a safe position to catch it.
“Then, something spectacular happened. This Black Mamba started projectile pooing like I’ve never seen a mamba do before! The amount of fecal matter was outstanding, and it just never ended! Thankfully I didn’t get too much on me,” said a relieved Evans.
Evans released the Black Mamba this morning in an undisclosed location that is far away from humans.
