Motorist plunges down bank near Shongweni
Paramedics and the fire department worked together to help rescue the patient.
ONE person was injured when a car plunged down a bank on the N3 near Shongweni this morning.
A team from Meditec Advanced Life support were with the patient while the fire department lowered a stokes basket to help transport the crash victim over the harsh terrain.
Rescuetech was called in to assist with the recovery of the patient and created a basic rope set up with safety for the hauling system.

“The patient was brought to the roadside and further treatment was done before they were taken to hospital by Meditech Emergency Medical Services. The team work between all of the services is commended as the patient is always first priority,” said Rescuetech’s Warren Brauns.
