Grade R graduates celebrate in style

Umzamo Pre-School in Reservoir Hills is one of the three pre-schools which are supported by the Chic Mamas Do Care Durban.

IT was a very special moment for the children who attended their graduation ceremony at Umzamo Pre-School in Reservoir Hills.

The school is one of the three pre-schools which are supported by the Chic Mamas Do Care Durban, an organisation which consists of a group of enthusiastic women who believe in the importance of Early Childhood Development (ECD).

There was much excitement during the preparations and proud parents and families looked on as their children participated in the ceremonial activities.

Head teacher, Nomusa Dlungwana said, “While it has been a really tough year with Covid-19, we have done our very best to prepare our learners and provide a stimulating environment so that they are prepared for Grade R. 

 

“We are thankful to the Chic Mamas for all the on-going support in so many ways and the parents who have entrusted their children in our care,” she said. 

Chic Mama, Anneke Findlay said the day was a joyous occasion.

“It is truly wonderful to see how these children have grown and developed key foundation skills that will assist them to tackle many challenges during their formative school years. The brain and emotional development during the first four years of a child’s life is incredibly important and that’s why our team is dedicated to helping early childhood development projects,” she said.
