Fourth suspect arrested in Pinetown kidnapping and carjacking case

The woman's arrest is in connection with a 40-year-old man who went missing in late September.

A 24-YEAR OLD woman, wanted in connection with murder and kidnapping, was arrested by police officers in Emanguzi this morning.

She is set to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

According to KZN SAPS spokesman, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, the police, which consisted of Pinetown detectives, the tactical response team and the K9 Unit, made the arrest this morning (18 December).

On Tuesday, 29 September this year, Nkosi Langa (40) was reported missing at Pinetown SAPS and a missing person docket was opened.  

“It is alleged that Langa left his residence in Pinetown, driving his bakkie, and never returned home. His bakkie was later found in possession of a 29-year-old man in the Dalton area in the midlands,” said Mbele.

Investigations led the police to the Pinetown CBD where the two suspects, aged 35 and 37, were arrested.

Phiwayinkosi Mbedu (29) and Nkosinathi Zungu (35) appeared at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court for kidnapping and carjacking and were remanded in custody.

The third suspect, the 37-year-old, appeared in the same court a few days later. Updates to follow.
