Rain doesn’t dampen Christmas spirit at Queensburgh Cheshire home

This year's annual christmas fair at Queensburgh Cheshire Homes was a little different from previous years with extra care being taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

QUEENSBURGH Cheshire Home’s annual Christmas Sale on Saturday, 5 December, was well supported by people from all over Durban despite the inclement weather which tried its best to put a damper on the day.

Hillary resident, Lorna Lincoln share a table with Dylan and Michael Olmesdahl in the tea garden, on Saturday, 5 December.

It was a great event for many who had been sheltering at home during the Covid-19 outbreak and could now take the opportunity to head out for a bite at the tea garden and browse the stalls stocked with a variety of odds and ends and many exciting Christmas decorations and gift ideas.

For the first time since the lockdown in March, Cheshire Home hosted live music which kept people entertained including some youngsters who decided it was a perfect opportunity to dance in the rain.

John and Joan Paikin enjoy cake at the tea garden while taking a break from browsing the bargains.

Among those showing their support for the home were some old friends, who hadn’t been able to see as much of each other this year, people on the hunt for a bargain and some teenagers taking a much needed break from studying for their Grade 12 final exams.

Heather Matthews, Cecilia Michael, Romal Michael and Chow Michael enjoy their day at Queensburgh Cheshire Homes on Saturday, 5 December.
