Ring in festive season with Westville Rotary

For the second year running, the Rotary Club of Westville will set up the nativity scene outside the Westville Civic Centre.

JOIN the Rotary Club of Westville for its nativity scene unveiling and carols at the intersection of St James Road and Kings Road in Westville on Saturday, 12 December from 6.30pm.

Its past president, Sue Walker, alongside a group of its members have been hard at work refurbishing the traditional nativity scene that has become an annual tradition in Westville.

“For the second year running, the scene will be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Westville with the help and support of local businesses and individuals. GR Cabins have once again provided the stable, J & D Electrical are assisting with the lights, and the Westville Bowling Club with the electricity. Our local parks department will make sure the area is ready and maintained over the season and eThekwini Toyota are helping with the transport of display,” said a proud Walker.

It will be installed during the second week of December and local residents are invited to join in on the community event and celebrate the festive season with the local Rotarians.

“As a very tumultuous year draws to a close, the Rotary Club of Westville hopes this display will be a reminder of the celebration of new life, hope and renewal and convey a message of the dignity of all human beings, no matter how rich or poor, humble or high stationed,” said Walker.
