Eskom advises of temporary closure on N3 highway near Cato Ridge

Workers are repairing the electricity line crossings which were damaged by lightning earlier today. 

ESKOM has released a statement regarding a temporary closure of the N3 highway near Cato Ridge this afternoon (Thursday, 10 December).

The road is expected to be closed between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.

The road will be closed for about three hours while Eskom workers repair the electricity line crossings that were damaged when lightning struck electricity structures around the Cato Ridge area earlier today (10 December).

“The closure will affect traffic on both northbound and southbound carriageways of the N3 highway. Traffic officials will divert traffic off the N3,” read the statement.

Eskom apologises for any inconveniences that road users may experience. For further enquiries, road users may contact the Eskom Contact Centre on 08600 37566.
