VIDEO: One dead as truck smashes into multiple vehicles on N3

The scene is still active and motorists are urged to use alternate routes.

UPDATE:

AFTER attempts by life support paramedics to resuscitate one of the seriously injured patients, one person was declared dead at the scene.

Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst noted that all of the other patients were treated on scene and have since been transported to various hospitals.

A TRUCK is reported to have crashed into multiple cars along the N3 east bound near the Mariannhill Toll Plaza this morning. 

According to Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst, the truck slammed into several vehicles before it rolled down a bank.

“Medics found that multiple people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious with occupants of the vehicles still entrapped,” said Herbst.
