Road Traffic Inspectorate adds extra parking at Rossburgh licensing centre

Those using the Rossburgh licensing and testing centre are advised to make use of the newly allocated parking rather than risk a fine for parking illegally.

ROSSBURGH’s licensing and testing centre has seen an influx of applicants since reopening after the lockdown.

“With new applications and renewals of drivers licences permitted to continue, there has been an influx of applicants queuing outside of Rossburgh testing centre and no parking space allocated to those not using public transport,” said Bellair SAPS communications officer, Sgt Pam Pillay this week.

“This has caused major congestion and unlawful parking outside Southway Mall and in the vicinity of the testing centre. Due to the current pandemic and with social distancing regulations in place, restrictions has been placed on organisations to limit the amount of people entering a building at any given time resulting in long queues and traffic congestion,” explained Pillay.

“Road Traffic Inspectorate-Rossburgh has now allocated a parking area for patrons of the testing centre which will ease the congestion along Titren Road and surrounding areas,” said Pillay on Monday, 30 November.

“There will be continuous law enforcement by traffic officials on Coronet Road and Titren Road for those parking in a no parking zone,” said Pillay.

She explained that clients of RTI are urged to make use of the newly allocated parking area located at the second gate entrance of RTI to avoid being issued fines for illegal parking.
