A-NINE-YEAR-OLD boy has sustained serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident on St Johns Avenue Bridge in Pinetown.

A light delivery vehicle and a motor vehicle collided on the bridge before the light delivery vehicle left the roadway landing in the embankment below.
Rescue Care media spokesman, Rowan Scandroglio said Rescue Care Paramedics together with Red Line Response arrived on the scene just before 2pm to find the boy, believed to be nine years old, sustained serious injuries.
“The boy was stabilised on the scene by Rescue Care Advanced Life Support Paramedics before he was transported to hospital,” said Scandroglio.
The boy’s mother and the driver of the bakkie sustained moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene.
They were also transported to hospital. The events leading up to the accident are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
