Ronald said, their running club, Kin Fit, was contacted by KwaZulu-Natal Athletics (KZNA) and were told they are not permitted to host a charity social run.

“This is in accordance with their latest circular,” he said.

Shayna said they were deeply saddened by this unfortunate turn of events as all monies received was meant to go towards the support and upliftment of the elderly.

“This event was to financially aid Tafta in providing the elderly with a roast lunch on Christmas day.”

The duo said they were eternally grateful and humbled by the public’s continued support during these tough times.

But not even the cancellation of a social charity run will stop these fitness fanatics to show their support for the elderly.

Ronald and Shayna will be completing a run on Sunday, 29 November in support of Tafta.

People can use their surname as the beneficiary reference and fax the details to 086 748 9047 or email info@tafta.org.za in order to receive your tax certificate.

“For those who have already paid to support this social charity run, you will be refunded from Kin Fit as we feel this is an injustice to the charity,” he added.
