Varsity college host movie night to raise funds for Clermont school

All proceeds will be donated to Christianenburg Primary School.

A TOTAL of R1585 was raised by The IIE’s Varsity College Westville during the campus’ recent drive-in movie night.

The money will be donated to Christianenburg Primary School, a Clermont-based school.

Westville Varsity College public relations and events coordinator, Kara Lortan said on the night, students had the option to arrive and enjoy the movie in their cars and those who were dropped off had the option to book a spot to sit at the event held on campus.

“The money was raised through ticket sales and all proceeds will be donated to the school which was ‘adopted’ by the IIE’s Varsity College Westville VC Cares, a student volunteer body,” said Lortan.

In September, the staff and students at the campus were encouraged to collect sanitary towels. Through that initiative, a much-needed sanitary towel donation, valued at R1500, was collected and donated to the school.
