Decomposed body found hanging at Queensburgh rugby field

An inquest docket has been opened at Bellair SAPS to investigate what lead to the death of the man whose decomposed body was found on Wednesday, 4 November.

ON Wednesday (4 November) afternoon Bellair SAPS communications officer, Sgt Pam Pillay, confirmed that the police had launched an investigation into the death of a man whose decomposed body was found at a sports ground.

“A body of an African male was found hanging from a tree in the bush area at the Queensburgh rugby field,” said Pillay. 

She said police still hadn’t identified the man who was dressed in navy pants, a navy jacket and brown shoes.

“Bellair SAPS is investigating an inquest docket,” said Pillay.

“On Wednesday, 4 November  police attended Queensburgh Rugby Field where the decomposed body of an unknown African male was discovered.”

Pillay said police are asking for anyone who might be able to assist with the investigation to contact the investigating officer, Sgt Sanele Mthethwa on 031 451 2822  or by calling Bellair SAPS on  031 451 2819.
