VIDEO: Firefighters return to Hillary Sports Club as fire reignites

The historic club was badly damaged after a fire broke out in the main hall.

EMERGENCY services were called back to Hillary Sports Club today, just before 9am, when flames were seen inside the charred rubble of the sports club’s main hall.

The Queensburgh News visited the site of yesterday afternoon’s fire and noticed the smouldering which continued through the night.

The historic club, located at the corner of Sarnia and Stella Roads, is well-known and loved by the community, was badly damaged after a fire broke out in the main hall which at the time was being used to store personal protective equipment (PPE).

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Updates will be published when more information becomes available. 

The video below was shared by the Highway Mail yesterday while the fire was still blazing.

At the time the fire broke, there were people in the club, but according to emergency services everyone who was inside was accounted for and no one was injured.
