The incident, which took place where Josiah Gumede Road (formerly known as Old Main Road) crosses Anderson Road, was not the first to have taken place at that intersection recently.
In March, police detained a 29-year-old suspect following a shooting at the same intersection on the Monday 23 March.
In February last year police warned people that the intersection was a hot-spot for criminal activities.
