Cowies Hill resident chases her childhood dream

Speaking about her journey thus far, Cele said she lost hope of ever participating in a pageant especially after giving birth.

“I was excited when I read about this competition. This is what I have been wanting since I was very young, but I was shy,” she said.

The 31-year-old said she saw an opportunity to fulfill her dreams and grabbed it with both hands.

Coming from a poor community in iXopo, Cele said this was a perfect pageant to be involved with as it encourages participants to give back to communities and get involved in charity work.

Cele said Miss Dream Chasers is an NGO which was started by KwaNdengezi resident, Londeka Dlamini who is passionate by uplifting the community.

“It opens a platform for young people who want to pursue a modelling career”

The mother of three said what she loves most about the pageant is that it’s not only about beauty and slim bodies.

“I never thought that my dream of becoming a model would come true after giving birth,” she added.

She advised young people to never lose hope and always chase after their dreams.

“It’s never too late,” she said.

Cele has since donated clothes to needy communities and appealed for residents to donate clothing they no longer use.

Cele also helps young people with other skills such as singing, dance and reciting poems.

She has appealed for people to vote for her on the Miss Dream Chasers KZN 2019 Facebook page.

People who wish to assist Cele with her charity drive can email her on silindile prisca10@gmail.com.
