Winston Park resident brings her garden to life
Deborah Horsburgh was inspired to create her colourful fairy garden when her Bed and Breakfast was closed due to lockdown regulations. With Spring finally here, the nature lover's garden is also surrounded with beautiful colourful clivias.
INSPIRED by her love for nature and fairies, Winston Park resident, Deborah Horsburgh used her spare time, during the Covid-19 lockdown, to create a magical spot in her garden.

Horsburgh and her husband were forced to close their Bed and Breakfast as a result of the pandemic.
‘Bored out of her tree’ Horsburgh was inspired to create something magical in her garden.
Speaking about her creative project, Horsburgh said while growing up, she spent a lot of time in the garden with her mother who had green fingers.
She decided to use the knowledge she gained over the years to revive the appearance her garden which was turning into a bush.

Her love for fairies developed when she taught porcelain art.
“A fairy garden is a special place to focus on the small details of nature and to explore the range of my imagination, it my happy place,” she said.
“I make my own fairies and others I received from my friends who know the love I have for fairies,” she added.
With Spring finally here, Horsburgh’s garden is also filled with beautiful colourful clivias which are popular among plant lovers.
“I love this time of the year, it is just divine, everything is beautiful.”
She added that she loves nature and the sight of birds that beautify her garden.
