Update: Shortly after this story was published the South Africa Community Crime Watch reported that the missing Pinetown man, Wernand Wessels, had returned home late this afternoon (Friday, 9 October).
A 45-year-old man from Pinetown, who has gone missing, is being sought by Pinetown SAPS.
According to South Africa Community Crime Watch (SACCW) CEO, Steven King, Wernand Wessels, better known as Vernon, was last seen on Saturday, 3 October, at 6pm when he left work.
Wessels, who is described as large in build, 1.75m tall and weighing approximately 110kg, has light brown hair and blue eyes, with tattoos on his right arm calf.
He had been wearing blue denim overall pants and a bright orange shirt when he was last seen.

According to Dawn Gounden, one of the SACCW members assisting in the search, Wessels was reported as missing at the Pinetown SAPS yesterday.
“He usually goes home to Cowies Hill but this week he didn’t and family contacted the manager at his work for assistance on his whereabouts,” said Gounden.
When he left work on Saturday, he was driving a charcoal grey Hyundai Tucson, 2.01 with the registration number NU 27265.
Gounden explained that the case is in the process of being transferred to Verulam where he was last seen.

“He works at the logistics company from Monday to Saturday, and then usually comes back to Cowies Hill where he lives with his family on Saturday,” she said.
