Join Westville attorneys and run for rhinos
While the event is free, participants are encouraged to donate what they can towards the Rhinovember initiative.
WESTVILLE’S BDE Attorneys have called on all runners to lace up and help raise much-needed funds for its virtual Rhinovember Charity Fun Run.
The annual event, which was launched in November in 2016, is held to raise awareness for the plight of the country’s rhinos and to assist in the fight to save the incredible creatures from poaching.
“This is something very close to our hearts,” said a director at BDE Attorneys, Nicola De Oliveira.
Last year, the company raised nearly R37 000 for rhino conservation. This year, it has chosen to partner with the Ezemvelo Game Capture Unit.
“The Ezemvelo Game Capture Unit facility is one for the future and for future generations of rhinos in our country – a tragic necessity born out of, and based on, current poaching statistics.

“While nurturing and rehabilitating the rhinos, they are also trying to create an environment that gives the rhinos a chance to experience natural living conditions without having to deal with predators, with the aim of eventually reintegrating them back into the wild where they belong,” said De Oliveira.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the event will be hosted as a virtual fun run.
Participants will have the entire month of November to complete a virtual run of 10km and, once this is completed, they must submit the proof of the run to enter the event.
The event is free, but runners are encouraged to donate any amount possible to support the cause. All funds raised will be given to the Ezemvelo Game Capture Unit to assist with ongoing expenses.
