CROW in need of donations for baby animals

Vervet monkeys and baby birds are CROW's most common admissions during the baby season.

ANIMALS of all species give birth between the months of September and February and unfortunately many of the newborns are somehow orphaned or abandoned and find their way to the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW).

Vervet monkeys and baby birds are CROW’s most common admissions during this time.

During last year’s baby season, the centre admitted 27 infant monkeys alone.

A hadeda chick is one of CROW’s latest rescues and comes as a foreboding sign: baby season is here.

The baby bird fell out of his nest and was brought to the centre to be raised.

“The first hadeda chick that we admit close to spring is usually a good indicator that a season of young ones is upon us,” said CROW’s spokesman, Alexandra Kögl.

The centre appealed to the public to help them get through baby season either by donating money or volunteering your time (volunteers must be 16 years and older to volunteer at CROW).
