Man (53) murdered in Summerveld home invasion

The man and his wife were at home when five unknown men entered the house.

A 53-YEAR-OLD* Summerveld man was stabbed to death during a house robbery last night, (Thursday, 27 August).

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, Capt Linzi Smith, said the man and his wife were at home when five unknown men forced the door open.

“Both husband and wife were bound and assaulted. The husband also sustained stab wounds and died at the scene. His wife managed to free her bound hands, pressed the panic button and crawled outside for help,” said Smith.

The woman’s call for help was heard by a neighbour who called the security.

Smith said it is uncertain what was taken at this stage.

A case of murder and house robbery has been opened and is under investigation.

Smith has appealed to anybody who may have any information with regards to this incident to come forward.
