AUDREY Van Gelder is Forest View Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month.The Grade 3 learner is a second generation Forest View learner as her dad, Donovan Van Gelder, also attended the school.
While she has many talents on and off the sports field, it is her artistic talent that sets her apart from her peers. This talent has been evident since she was 18 months old, although her parents thought it was just an accident when she drew a face at such a young age.
However, it has turned out that she has only continued to grow and develop as an artist. A highlight for her class teacher each year is receiving a personalised, hand drawn birthday card from Audrey.
It is not only her drawing skills but her wonderful imagination and attention to detail in her art is that catches the eye.
“Her dream is to draw for Marvel one day. Audrey, we are so proud of the delightful young lady you are,” said the school’s public relations officer, Jean Montile.
