Upper highway NPO packs bags filled with love

Through various community partners, Heart in Hands has already sent out more than 300 hampers into the community.

AT the start of August, commemorated as women’s month, Hearts in Hands NPO put out an appeal to the community to support their drive and donate toiletries, stationery and a few treats for their care hampers they have been putting together.

To date, the NPO has already sent out more than 300 hampers into the community through their various community partners such as Jess Foord Foundation, Careline, Twinkle Star Foundation, Expose HOPE organisation, The Robin Hood Foundation and The Open Door Crisis centre.

“These care packages are a small blessing to ladies in the community, filled with necessities like soap, shampoo, body lotion, combs, sanitary pads, toothbrushes, toothpaste, facecloths and deodorants,” said founder of the NPO, Tracy Klokie.

Klokie has a heart for making a difference and a soft spot for women in need and said she was in tears when reading a thank you from one of the recipients.

“She sent the thank you message with a photo of a group of young teens she handed these care hampers out too. The young girls were beyond excited to receive the items we think of as necessities, but are luxuries to those that cannot afford them,” she said.

The NPO would love to be able to send out at least another 200 hampers and Klokie said they would be grateful for any support from the community as they hope to run this campaign for the entire month of August.

Anyone who would like to help Hearts in Hands make a difference can donate R50 or any of above from the items mentioned above.Email enquiries@heartsinhands.co.za or message 072 669 0284.
