WATCH: Clermont upcoming artist heals through his music

The talented Ndumiso 'The Healer' Luthuli decided at a very young age that he wanted to take a career in music.

UPCOMING artist, Ndumiso Luthuli was named The Healer by his fans because of his soothing voice which has a way of touching one’s soul.

Luthuli said he decided when he was in Grade 7 that he wanted to be in the entertainment industry as he was always representing the school at art and culture events.

“I was a very versatile and active learner as I participated in a number of sports such as soccer, martial art and athletics but music captured my heart,” he said.

In 2013, the Clermont resident started his music career with the help of producer, Mthokozisi Msomi who spotted his talent.

He started singing in the Maskandi genre before changing to Afro Pop.

“Over the years I have performed at weddings, funerals and other events as I also sing gospel music from time to time,” he said.

Listening to various genres of music was what also inspired Luthuli to sing, “My favourite type of music which I grew up listening was slow jam.”

Luthuli who is also a guitarist and keyboard player writes his own music and released a single called, ‘Yolanda’.

The determined 25-year-old said he believes that nothing is impossible which is the reason he grabs every opportunity that comes through his way and uses his talents to the fullest.

“I love the stage. I also wish to pursue acting and I can also throw some jokes.”

Luthuli said he sings about his life experiences.

“I have been hurt so many times and I share my journey through my music,” he said.

When Luthuli feels the inspiration to write, he goes to quite areas where he can concentrate.

“I love being indoors and at parks. In other times I travel to KwaNyuswa, the Valley of a 1000 Hills, the mountains gives me so much inspiration,” he said.
