How to cut your mans hair at home

Do you want to give your boyfriend a little extra TLC? Well, why not surprise him with a haircut at home?

Since social distancing is still so important, it might not be ideal for letting him go to the barber, so let’s get the barber to come to him!

Here are some guidelines to help you cut your man’s hair at home:

Wash your hands

You want to ensure that your hands are clean before cutting your boyfriend’s hair. Hygiene comes first, after all. Wash your hands with warm water and soap to get rid of any dirt and germs.

Wash his hair

Before cutting, you want to make sure that his hair and scalp is clean and fresh. Use TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo , which is designed to fight frizz, detangle knots, boost shine and add silky softness. This shampoo will ensure that you get rid of dirt and excess oil. Then rinse off the shampoo with lukewarm water.

Tip: If you’re going to dry his hair with a blow dryer, use a heat protection spray to protect hair against damage from harsh temperatures.

Cover him up

Get a clean towel and wrap it around his shoulders like a small cape, securing it with a clip in the front. Then place a piece of plastic over the towel as another cover.

Detangle and clip hair

Detangle his hair by combing it backwards while gathering the hair in your hands. We recommend that you detangle his hair while it’s wet- this will make the process easier. Secure hair on the crown of his head using a clip. This will keep you from cutting hair excessively.

Start cutting on the sides

Comb through a section of hair on the left side of his head and position the comb right above his ear. Then, run the clipper on top of the comb to start cutting hair. When you’re finished, raise the comb a bit to cut more hair until you finish with the left side. After that, repeat the process on the right side and at the back of his head.

Cut the top section of his hair.

Remove the clip from his crown then comb his hair backwards first then upwards. Position your index and middle fingers near the tips to measure the amount of hair you’re going to trim. If you’d like to add a little bit of texture to the tips, hold scissors vertically as you trim the tips of his hair.

Style hair

Once you’ve cut his hair to the desired length, apply TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Oil to give his hair a dapper, perfectly polished look.
