BIRDLIFE Port Natal’s annual calendar for 2021 is out of the starting blocks and is now up for pre-order.

The theme for the organisation’s calendar is both topical and overdue:

Celebrating and Understanding the Zulu names of KZN Birds.

Each month is accompanied by a beautiful photo by Hugh Chittenden and next to each bird is its Zulu name and origin/explanation of the name.

“Because of the sales of the 2020 calendar, the club was able to contribute R35 000 to bird conservation and community support over the past 12 months. This is also made possible through our sponsors, who facilitate the production of the calendar,” said Birdlife Port Natal ‘s chairman, Nicolette Forbes.

As an added extra, there is now a pull-out-and-keep insert that includes the KZN Community Guides, their areas of specialisation and contact details to facilitate birding adventures across the province.

The early bird special is R100 per calendar and orders of three of more will drop the price of each calendar to R90.
