PR secretary for The Salvation Army, Major Carin Holmes said, every winter they receive many requests for food, blankets and warm clothing.

“This year, many more people are in need because of the impact of the Coronavirus. We hope that people could donate their winter clothes that they have outgrown to those who can use them,” said Holmes.

The Odd Number’s account manager for The Salvation Army, Lwandile Nkuhlu, said,”We would like people to take away the importance of letting go, especially when it can contribute to the betterment of those less fortunate. This is a value that we share with The Salvation Army.”

People can take their old winter clothes to their nearest Salvation Army church. Alternatively, they can donate financially to The Salvation Army by depositing money into the following account:

Bank: First National Bank Branch:
Braamfontein branch code: 251905
Account name: Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal
Account number: 50540087604
Reference: Your name and ‘Winter’ as a reference.
