Fabulous reads – A gift that keeps on giving

Book review - The Book of Gifts by Craig Higginson.

The Book of Gifts, Craig Higginson, Pan Macmillan, ISBN: 9781770107007

The novel starts with an 11-year-old boy, Julian, who is on holiday in Durban with his mom, Emma, and his aunt and uncle, Jennifer and Andrew. The book is quite interesting and soon becomes intriguingly complex.

At first I found the storyline to be disjointed but, as I burrowed further into the book, it took me by complete surprise as you are never too sure what will happen next.

It’s beautifully written and it delves into each person’s life so perfectly. From an adolescent love to betrayal and accountability; this is a definite must-read.As the title states: The Book of Gifts but what is the cost of giving a gift and receiving one?
