Pick n Pay Queensburgh closes due to positive Covid-19 case

The local store is currently undergoing a deep clean and will be open again soon.

PICK N PAY Queensburgh was closed this morning after one of its staff members tested positive for the coronavirus today, 25 July.

In a statement to the Highway Mail, Pick n Pay said, “The affected staff member has not been at work since Tuesday. The staff member’s close contacts were immediately traced and were sent home to self-quarantine for the required period.”

The entire store is now being deep cleaned and sanitised by a specialist cleaning company.

The Department of Health was informed and the store will reopen soon.

In its statement it also noted that its staff follow strict hygiene rules and practices that include washing hands regularly and making use of hand sanitiser, which is readily available for all of its staff and customers in store.

“Our staff are screened daily for symptoms before they start work and we are engaging with them regularly on safety measures,” said Pick n Pay.
