The Ushers are committed to each other

RICHARD and Sophia Usher recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were both born in East Africa and got married in Moshe, Tanzania.

On 28 December, 1967, Richard and Sophia paid the deposit on their house in Pinetown.

It had no doors and no windows back then, but they have now been in the same house for almost 53 years. The fondest years for the couple include raising their two beautiful daughters.

They also have four grandchildren.They are almost perplexed that marriage now days does not mean commitment like it used to mean in the past.

When asked what their secret to a long-lasting marriage is, they said, “To just be straight with one another.”
