Loadshedding is back

Durbanites are urged to prepare as Eskom predicts a constrained supply of power will persist though the weekend.

ESKOM has warned that loadshedding stage 2 will be implemented from 12pm today until 10pm tonight.

In a statement, the power giant said this was due to the increased breakdowns of its generating units.

“This loadshedding has been caused by an increase in plant breakdowns exceeding 3 000MW of capacity. Eskom is working hard to return as many of these generation units to service,” read the statement.

It has requested that the public reduce electricity usage to help minimise loadshedding.
