Durban NPOs join forces for families in need

NPOs have been working together to bring relief to the people in need of help.

NPOs from around Durban united to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the 200 families affected by the recent KwaMashu fires.

Coordinator of The Robin Hood Foundation, Kim Griffith-Jones, said the desperate plight of these families in this informal settlement was highlighted by Kate Da Silva from Litter 4 Tokens.

Then Hearts in Hands Foodbank NPO put an appeal out to community partners to join forces.

“The Robin Hood Foundation, Waste Action Tribe, Litter 4 Tokens and Jes Foord Foundation banded together to distribute more than three tons of food aid, clothing, linen as well as personal hygiene items, PPE and sanitisers,” said Kim.

Kim added that representatives from the participating NPOs unanimously agreed that in these times of national disaster, it is absolutely imperative that NPOs work together to make as much of an impact as they can to bring relief to the people in need of help.
