The Waterfall couple got married at the Kloof Methodist Church on 23 May 1970 and their beautiful day was featured in the Highway Mail.

Janine said this will be the first time they would not be going out to celebrate their wedding anniversary but still feel blessed to reach this milestone.

Malcolm was working at the Durban Ice Rink and won two skating marathons which earned him some points with Janine.

“I liked her the first time I saw her, we just clicked and we used to skate together. The love we shared has kept us going, we share a special chemistry,” said Malcolm.

Janine described themselves as home buddies who enjoy working in the garden.

The couple feels that time has just flown by because of the wonderful years they have shared.

“We get on very well together, we just take every day as it comes and go with the flow. We might not always see eye to eye but the love we share conquers all,” said Janine.

The couple are blessed with two children and three grandchildren.
