Three injured in weekend accidents in Highway area

The patients sustained various injuries from serious to moderate.

A MAN, believed to be in his 40s, sustained serious injuries in a single vehicle accident on the M13, at the Stapleton Road off-ramp, in Pinetown on Friday night.

ER24 paramedics came across the scene at about 10.30pm.

The man was ejected from the vehicle in M13, Stapleton off-ramp accident.

“The man was found ejected from the vehicle and lying in a stormwater runoff. He was found to have sustained serious injuries,” said ER24 paramedics spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen.

The man was treated on scene before being transported to RK Khan Hospital.

In a separate incident, two men were injured on Inanda Road, Hillcrest on Saturday afternoon.

Netcare Limited media liaison officer, Shawn Herbst said paramedics received a call from the South African Community Crime Watch about a motor vehicle collision.

“Reports from the scene indicated that three vehicles were involved in the collision.

“Medics assessed the scene and found that a minor passenger had sustained serious injuries and an adult sustained moderate injuries in the crash.

“The Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free one of the occupants,” said Herbst.

The patients were transported to hospital after being stabilised.
