THE Minister of Social Development, Lindiwe Zulu has amended her directions to co-parents, allowing children to be moved in cases where court orders or certain legal agreements are in place.
Zulu previously stated that children were not to be moved during lockdown. She had directed that children should stay with the parent they were with when lockdown started.
The amendment was published in a Government Gazette on 7 April.
According to the gazette, movement of children between co- holders of parental responsibilities is still prohibited, except where arrangements are in place.
This includes cases where there is a court order, a parental responsibilities and rights agreement or a parenting plan in place that is registered with the family advocate.

Parents who meet these requirements are allowed to move their children so long as there are no people in the new household with Covid-19.
This includes anyone who is “reasonably suspected” to be infected or anyone who is known to have been in contact with someone with Covid-19.
