Man robbed for bag, shot dead in New Germany
A case of murder and robbery was opened but no arrests have been made.
ONE man was mugged, shot and killed by an armed robber along Shepstone Road yesterday morning.
Pinetown cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, said two men were walking along Shepstone Road when they were accosted by another two armed men.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said gunshots were heard and the suspects were then observed fleeing on foot towards KwaDabeka.

“One victim was robbed of his bag before he was shot dead. The second one (the victim) managed to escape,” said Manqele.
An undisclosed amount of cash was found on the deceased’s body and was handed over as evidence to SAPS members at the scene. Mathios noted that one bullet casing was recovered at the scene.
