21 children injured in Westmead taxi crash

The children were stabilised on scene and taken to hospital.

TWENTY one children have been injured in a serious school taxi crash in the corner of Hillside and Trafford roads in Westmead this morning.

Garrith Jamieson, from Rescue Care Paramedics, said the children who were being transported by the taxi to school have sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“The children were stabilised on scene and taken to hospital and SAPS will be investigating the cause of the accident,” said Jamieson.

Traffic was severely affected but the scene has been cleared.
