THREE of the four suspects from this morning’s shootout at the on-ramp to the St John’s Bridge have been arrested.
According to Blue Security’s community and media liaison, Andreas Mathios, the attempted robbery and shootout occurred after 9am today.
Suspects attempted to jam an unmarked courier vehicle and steal its contents.

Shots were fired between the security detail and the gang of armed robbers. Mathios said the suspects were injured in the exchange.
“Some of them made their way into the community, but were subsequently arrested. One suspect remains at large at this stage. SAPS and the Metro Police Canine Unit, and all responders who arrived on scene to assist, can be commended,” said Mathios.
The road is still closed.
