Boy (9) critically injured in M7 accident

The boy's father and brother sustained moderate injuries.

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy is in a critical condition following a horrific accident on the M7 involving a car and a truck.

The accident happened this afternoon on the corner of M7 and Titren Road.

Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care Paramedics said, paramedics found that the truck had T-boned a light motor vehicle.

“In the light motor vehicle there was a father and his two sons. The nine-year-old was critically injured, the father and his other son sustained moderate injuries. The truck driver sustained minor injuries,” said Jamieson.

The boy is said to have gone into cardiac arrest as paramedics worked to stabilise him, said Jamieson.

Fortunately paramedics were able to resuscitate the boy and he was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police will be investigating the cause of the accident.
