Pinetown couple celebrates 5 decades of love
Krish and Teresa Archary were married on 22 February 1970 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
THEY say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and this certainly rings true for Krish and Teresa Archary as Teresa’s cooking was one of the things which attracted Krish to her.
The couple, who celebrated their golden anniversary, know their way around the kitchen as they owned a restaurant in the Pinetown area for many years.

Krish and Teresa worked for the same company, Knowles SuperSPAR before opening their own place.
“In those days, it was called Knowles Department Store. Teresa was a very pretty woman with a good heart and I eventually asked her out after a few months.
“She cooked the most delicious meal when I visited her, that sealed the deal for me. She even taught me how to cook and we both enjoy cooking,” said Krish.
Teresa loved Krish’s personality and behaviour. “He has always been strong-minded and knew what he wanted. I can say that we are compatible,” she said.
The Mariannhill Park couple were married on 22 February 1970 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, then based in Chapel Lane, Pinetown before moving to Maurice Nichols Road.
Although marriage is not a straight and narrow road, the couple said they are truly blessed to have stayed married for so many years.
“Marriage can be a rough journey sometimes, but communication has carried us through,” said Krish.
The couple believe that the advice they received when they got married has also played a huge role in their lasting relationship.
“We were advised to resolve any arguments before going to bed. We have practised that and we can say it has worked for us,” said Teresa.
