VIDEO: Miraculous escape for truck driver in M7 accident

The M7, Durban inbound, towards Belville has been closed as a result of the accident.

PARAMEDICS responding to a multi-vehicle accident on the M7 earlier today, “expected the worst” as they assessed the damage of one of the vehicles – a truck.

Miraculously only one person, the truck driver, who is believed to be in his 4os, sustained injuries in the accident, said Garrith Jamieson of Rescue Care paramedics.

“He was ejected from the truck, however he had sustained minor injuries,” he said. According to Jamieson, the man refused to be transported to hospital.

Jamieson said only one other vehicle had been “slightly” damaged.

Traffic was severely congested, said Jamieson, adding that M7, Durban-bound, had been closed off from, the Belville area to allow for recovery and clean up.

Jamieson advised motorist to avoid this area at all costs, and confirmed at around 12pm that accident scene had not yet been cleared and traffic was still being affected.
