According to Jamieson, who shared a picture and the above voice note, the accident had taken place at the intersection of Hans Dettman (M34) and Wiltshire Roads near Northdene.

“A school taxi has been involved. A total of 21 school children on their way to school have been injured,” said Jamieson adding that the children were being treated paramedics from different ambulance services which were on the scene.

Jamieson said the children were transported to various hospitals and confirmed at 10.45am that there had not been any critical injuries or deaths resulting from the scene which had since been cleared although when the scene was still active it had severely affected traffic for some time.

Malvern

In another accident on the same morning, a vehicle was left upside down on Main Road running through Malvern.

Further details about what led to the car being overturned on the road near the filling station at the intersection of Main and Ethelbert Roads was not available but motorists reported that emergency services were on the scene and the road was clear by 10am.

Suspected hit and run on M7

In yet another unrelated incident, a man was reportedly left lying on the fast lane of the M7 east-bound, near the Bellville Road off-ramp to Malvern some time after 10am today.

Metro police were reportedly on their way to the scene where the pedestrian had allegedly been the victim of a hit and run.

The Highway Mail will update this developing story as more details become available.
