Wanted Waterfall robber arrested

The man was arrested in a joint operation between Blue Security, a private investigator, the Shongweni K9 unit and the SAPS flying squad.

WATERFALL residents can sleep soundly after a man, who is alleged to be involved in numerous housebreaking and home invasions in the neighbourhood, was arrested.

Blue Security’s tactical ambassador for the Highway Area, Russell Lawson, said, “A carefully orchestrated operation on Friday night, by Blue tactical teams, a private investigator, SAPS flying squad members and the Shongweni K9 units led to the successful arrest of a sought-after suspect who was wanted for multiple housebreakings and home invasions.”

Information was obtained earlier in the week that led the organisations to the man’s location in Molweni.

“The area was cordoned off and the suspect was arrested while standing outside, smoking,” said Lawson.

The man was taken to Hillcrest SAPS and was processed before being taken into custody.

“Investigations are ongoing as the man is linked to multiple housebreakings and home invasions in the greater Waterfall and Crestholme area,” added Lawson. “Since his arrest, criminal activity has decreased to almost zero in the area.”
