Peter Baylis, who lives on a road off Bamboo Lane, said the speed humps have improved the traffic and speed on the road. “Cars used to fly up and down the road and some would even drive on the verge and pavements,” he said.

According to Baylis traffic is now controlled.

Another resident, Martin Sasmam, congratulated the municipality on its foresight in the prevention of vehicle accidents and possible road deaths by erecting new traffic speed humps along on the road.

“Both as a ratepayer and a permanent resident in Bamboo Lane, I am delighted. Already the traffic has decreased and vehicles travel within the regulated speed limit. I feel confident, on behalf of the residents of Bamboo Lane, when I extend my thanks to all concerned in this matter,” said Sasmam.
