Lectures suspended at UKZN campuses

The academic programme is expected to resume on Monday, 10 February.

FOLLOWING the ongoing disruptions at UKZN, the University of KwaZulu-Natal has taken a decision to suspend, with immediate effect, the academic programme on all campuses until Friday, 7 February 2020.

UKZN spokesman, Ashton Bodrick said the academic programme will resume on Monday, 10 February. “The decision to suspend academic activities was taken in the best interests of the university.

The decision to suspend classes came after students went on a rampage yesterday, (Monday, 3 February) and torched a kitchen next to a lecture hall.

Capt SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said a case of public violence is being registered at Pinetown SAPS.
